Winter Sports Night. Wednesday, November 20, parents are asked to attend Winter Sports Night with their athletes at 6:00pm in the gymnasium. Contact Athletic Director Jim Buonocore at jbuonocore@ledyard.net

Food Drive. 
The annual food drive to benefit the Ledyard Food Locker is here! Every day this week, six-minute advisories will be held to collect non-perishable food items. Everyone is encouraged to participate and donate to the drive. Donations do not have to be Thanksgiving-specific!

Pfizer Field Trip.
If you are interested in medical research and want to learn more about career opportunities, this trip is for you! Tour the Pfizer campus and see scientists in action, fighting to deliver medical breakthroughs. Hear from a diverse panel and understand how all types of work from chemistry to finance to human resources contribute to making medicines. Choose from a list of career subjects that are interesting to you, and jump in to more. Interested? Sign up in the Career Center by Friday, 11/22. The trip is Tuesday, December 3, from 8:30-11:00. Transportation provided.

Fill a Shoebox Collection.
Youth Alive is requesting donations to fill shoeboxes for children in underdeveloped countries as part of Operation Christmas Child. You can bring donations to the Main Office. Suggestions: hair brushes and combs, hair ties, toothbrushes, art supplies, small toiletries, small toys (think: Hot Wheels, Shopkins, etc.), hats and gloves, crayons. 

Fencing Preseason.
 Strength and conditioning workouts will be held Thursday (11/21) and Tuesday (11/26) from 2:30-3:30 in the fitness center.

Repeat Announcements: 

Interact Club. The Interact Club is hosting their second annual Powderpuff football fundraiser on Friday, November 22, from 2:30-4:00pm at Blonders. Powderpuff is a football game where the girls play, and the boys coach and cheer. You can sign up to participate during both lunch waves this Thursday and Friday, as well as all of next week. Hope to see you there!

Inner Visions.
Ledyard High School's literary arts magazine, Inner Visions, is looking for submissions for its webpage and print magazine. If you draw or write or photograph or sculpt or do pretty much anything creative, we would love to feature your work. Please send submissions to Mr. Palmieri at lpalmieri@ledyard.net and check out the work of your classmates at www.innervisionslhs.weebly.com

Poet Laureate. 
The Class of 2020 is in search of its poet. If you are a senior who is a poet, and who is interested in representing your class in the yearbook, at graduation, and at public readings, please submit a portfolio of five poems for consideration. Poems should be typed, titled, and printed on five separate pieces of paper. Be sure your name is on them. Application packets are due in the Main Office by Tuesday, November 26.

Winter Sports. 
Family ID is open. All students interested in a winter sport must register and approved through Family ID in order to try out. The site is https://www.familyid.com/organizations/ledyard-athletics
