Dungeons and Dragons. Dungeons and Dragons will have its first meeting after school in Room 106 on Monday, 9/18, from 2:10-3:30pm. All are welcome; no experience needed! LHS Film Club. Lights, Camera, Action! The LHS Film Club is ready to start rolling, and we'd love for you to join in! Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 20th. We want to give people who are interested in all aspects of film a spotlight, and provide the opportunity to create movies from script to screen! On set we need writers, actors, tech-savvy editors, and anyone in between! We work on smaller projects and have flexible schedules, so if you're unsure give it a try! No need to be on camera and creativity is highly encouraged! We meet every Wednesday in room 106 from 2:10 to 3:30.For more info please email [email protected] or [email protected]. Student Congress. Now is the time to get involved! Show your Colonel Pride, come join Student Congress during Activity Period on Wednesday, September 20th in the Career Center Room 312. We will be planning Spirit Week, Pep Rally and Homecoming activities. Student Congress is a group of volunteer students working together with an adult advisor to promote and plan student activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership and encourage communication. Coffee House. The next coffee house is on October 12, 7-9 pm. All types of performers are welcome! Over the past 20+ years, there have been jugglers, dancers, poets, story tellers, comedians, concert violinists, rock bands, etc., anything and everything (plus there’s always karaoke). More Than Words. Have you heard about MTW? It’s an influential group focused on learning more about bias/prejudice and working for change in our school community. Sign out to room 211 during Activity Period on Wednesday to learn more or see Mr. Jannke. Key Club. Getting involved with school and community service early is great for making connections, helping others, building your resume, etc., all while having fun. Come learn about Key Club this Wednesday (Sept 20) after school in room 211 from 2:10 till 2:40. KC does dozens of projects every year. Get involved. KC’s first fundraiser will happen in early October and involve duct tape, so stay tuned! Contact Mr. Jannke for more. Tutoring Program. The National Honor Society runs a tutoring program. Typically students meet with tutors before or after school, and with luck sometimes during study or lunch. Email senior Sean Harren at [email protected] to request a tutor. ALSO, tutors are needed! MtG meets in Room 215 after school every Tuesday until 4:30. Come learn to play this superb card game! We'll teach you the rules if you don't know how to play, and we'll provide all the cards and supplies you'll need. Bring a deck if you have one, or borrow one of ours. New players welcome! Any student interested in playing on the girls' ice hockey co-op, hosted by Woodstock Academy, should see Mr. Buonocore in the APO. Ice Hockey - boys. Any student interested in playing on the Eastern Connecticut Eagles ice hockey team this winter should attend the ice hockey meeting at Fitch High School on September 18. The meeting begins in the Fitch HS cafeteria at 7:30pm. Spain Trip.
